Lonetree Highway
A little sketch of fall looking north on the Lonetree Highway. The greasewood has all turned that wonderful shade of gold and the blue bentonite strata in the hills becomes the only green we'll see for 5 or 6 months now.
Last week's entry was having issues. The kids are from our art class. They were learning about resist techniques with dye on silk. Could make scarves or panels with this method.

Love the colors on this one. You captured it perfectly. I love it when the clay hills get the blue and orange at night, this time of year.
Just letting you know I check your blog each weekend and enjoy each picture.
Kathy,
You have such incredible talent. And you know the names of the trees and bushes. Impressive! I would just say, "That hill with the trees and plants on it will be green for the next few months." Or, "Those fields over there with the grassy looking stuff will be gold for a while." You never cease to amaze me with your knowledge and artwork! I hope all is well. Say hi to Mike.
Sorry, the last post was from me. Harold
